Please keep in mind the SWSC Player Conduct rules as set out in the Policies & Procedures:

• Respect for the Game: Players must respect the spirit of the game and abide by its rules and regulations.
• Respect for Officials: Players must respect the decisions of the referees and officials. Arguing or dissenting with their decisions is not permitted.
• Respect for Opponents: Players must treat opponents with respect at all times, avoiding unsportsmanlike behavior, trash talk, and physical altercations.
• Respect for Teammates: Players should support and encourage their teammates, fostering a positive team environment.
• No Violent Conduct: Physical aggression, such as hitting, kicking, or pushing opponents, is strictly prohibited.
• No Dangerous Play: Players must avoid actions that could injure themselves or others.
• No Offensive Language: Players must not use offensive, insulting, or abusive language or gestures.
• Accountability: Players should take responsibility for their actions and accept the consequences, whether positive or negative.

We ask the Team Managers set an example of sportsmanlike conduct for their teammates. We also ask if their players are being disrespectful towards other players or Referees, that you step in and have them substitute off to cool down.  

The SWSC Executive is making every attempt to make sure this league is enjoyable and fun for all players. All players are to be respected regardless of which division the play in. Some players go out of their way to help other teams and play as a spare, and should be treated fair and respectfully.  

The Executive Committee reserves the right to suspend, remove, refuse registration, or refuse future participation in the Sault Ladies League and Fun League where a player's conduct is determined to be inconsistent with the values, expectations, or safety of the league.

This includes, but is not limited to, physical altercations, fighting, pushing or shoving, threats, harassment, verbal abuse, intimidation, discriminatory behaviour, inappropriate or offensive comments, and continuing confrontations or threatening behaviour away from the field when connected to a league game or activity.

Disciplinary action may include a warning, suspension for one or more games, removal from the remainder of a season, or refusal of future registration or participation, depending on the severity and circumstances of the incident.

We ask everyone who steps onto the field to take a moment to remember that soccer is just a game. There will be contact. There will be disagreements. There will be moments of frustration. How we choose to respond to those situations is what demonstrates our character as players and as a community.

Special Incident Report by a Player in Soccer

In soccer, a special incident report is usually a formal written account of an unusual or serious event that occurred during a match — something outside normal gameplay — which needs to be documented for review by the league, club, or governing body.

While referees are the ones who most often submit these reports, players can also submit their own written statements if they were directly involved in, witnessed, or were affected by the incident.

When a Player Might File a Special Incident Report

• Serious misconduct by another player, coach, or spectator (e.g., verbal abuse, threats, discriminatory remarks).
• Physical altercations outside the normal course of play (e.g., violent conduct after the whistle).
• Unsafe conditions (e.g., dangerous field hazards, crowd interference).
• Match abandonment due to weather, crowd trouble, or other disruptions.

Clubs are responsible for DBR in their leagues.

In this incident what happened on the field can be reported by someone other than the referee if they didn’t hear anything. “Verbal altercation on the field” – you need a Special Incident Report that indicates exact words that were said.  Both players could be charged with

1.15 Dismissed or reported by Match Official for "Using offensive, insulting or abusive

language and/or gestures" directed at anyone other than the match official(s). If racist or

sexual comments - please see 1.73 (if its 1.73, it goes to hearing)

1.51 - is a mandatory 1 game suspension.
